Shreveport, La. – Tragedy struck Sunday afternoon when a motorcyclist lost his life in a collision involving an SUV on East 70th Street. The incident occurred around 4:56 p.m. in the 2500 block, drawing immediate attention from local authorities.
According to reports, the motorcycle, traveling on East 70th Street, attempted to navigate past an SUV that was making a left turn into a business parking lot. Unfortunately, the motorcycle “clipped” the SUV, resulting in a catastrophic accident.
The motorcyclist, identified as Andrew York, aged 53, was thrown from his bike and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the incident. The Caddo coroner’s office has stated that an autopsy has been ordered to determine the specific cause of death.
The SUV’s driver sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. At this time, the severity of the driver’s injuries remains unclear.
