Shreveport Residents: It’s Time to Pay Your Property Taxes!

Hey there, Shreveport! The calendar has turned, and that means one thing—it’s time to settle up your property taxes in Caddo Parish. As we approach the end of the year, it’s essential to stay on top of your payments to avoid any pesky penalties. Fortunately, your local sheriff’s office has rolled out some convenient ways for you to make your payments, so let’s break it down!

How To Find Your Property Tax Statement

First things first, you’ll want to track down your property tax statement. The Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office has made this super easy! Just hop on over to their website at CaddoSheriff.org where you can view your statement online. You’ll find everything you need at the click of a button!

Where to Pay Your Taxes

Now that you’ve got your statement, it’s time to pay up! You have several options on how to do this:

  • Mail It In: You can send your payments via good ol’ fashioned mail. Just address your envelope to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office at P.O. Box 20905, Shreveport, La., 71120.
  • Pay in Person: If you prefer face-to-face action, you can drop by their office located at 501 Texas Street, Room 101.
  • Online Payment: No time to go out? No problem! Pay your property taxes online from the comfort of your home.
  • Phone Payment: You can even pay with a phone call by dialing 833-538-8539.

Special Payment Days

But wait, there’s more! The sheriff’s office is also hosting special days where you can make payments in person at designated locations. Mark your calendars for these dates:

  • December 14: Head to the Sheriff’s Safety Town at 8910 Jewella Ave. from 8 to 11 a.m. They will only accept checks and credit cards at this location.
  • December 28: You can also make payments from 8 a.m. to noon at two different substation locations—either the north substation at 11411 Louisiana Highway 1 in Oil City, or the south substation at 9956 Mansfield Road in Keithville. This time, cash will be accepted along with checks and credit cards!

Stay In the Know

It’s always wise to stay informed about the happenings around town. Make sure to keep your eye out for local updates. You can get breaking news and headlines delivered straight to your inbox every weekday at 7 a.m., noon, and 4 p.m. And don’t forget about your weather forecast every day at 9 a.m. so you know if you’ll need an umbrella while paying those taxes!
