Downtown Shreveport’s Pop N Pizza Announces Temporary Closure

Owner Shares Plans for the Future

In a surprise move, Pop N Pizza, a beloved downtown Shreveport pizzeria, has announced a temporary closure. This decision was shared by owner Brittani Shabazz during a live session on Facebook on August 24. Shabazz explained, “We have temporarily closed Pop N Pizza. It had just gotten to a point where we didn’t have a choice. We had to shut down.”

Reasons Behind the Decision

The closure comes after the restaurant faced some challenges. Shabazz mentioned that they had fallen behind on a few things, which led to this difficult choice. However, Shabazz remains upbeat, stating, “Y’all don’t cry for us because we are alright. God just showed me this is what we are supposed to be doing.”

Looking Ahead

During the downtime, Shabazz has exciting plans for the pizzeria. She shared her intention to host a pop-up shop right at Pop N Pizza and hinted at the introduction of some new recipes. “I love our pizza but just imagine how good it will be when we open back up,” Shabazz expressed enthusiastically.

A Five-Year Journey

Pop N Pizza first opened its doors five years ago on Kings Highway but made a big move in 2022 to its current spot at the corner of Texas Street and Marshall Street in downtown Shreveport. Shabazz reflected on their journey: “We’ve done this for five years. We are coming back.”

Community Support

The local community has always rallied around Pop N Pizza, and this closure seems like a necessary step for the restaurant to regroup and come back stronger. Shabazz’s positive outlook gives hope to many who love this downtown eatery.
