Restaurant Closure in Shreveport: Cypress by the Revenir

Popular Spot – Cypress by the Revenir – Prepares for Closure

A culinary era in Shreveport, known for its delicious tapas and nightlife, is coming to a close. Cypress by the Revenir, an esteemed restaurant situated on Line Avenue, announced its impending closure via a Facebook post on March 7. The establishment shared joyous reminiscences of their journey, appreciation for their patrons, coupled with an understanding of the tumultuous hospitality industry.

Memories and Appreciations

“It’s been a fun multi-year run at Cypress, but we will be closing our doors for good this Saturday, March 9. We’ve met so many incredible people. Enjoyed incredible world-class cocktails and wine. Watched chefs honing their craft. It’s all been worth it,” the restaurant expressed in its social announcement.

A Shreveport Hotspot

Since its opening in Fall 2022, Cypress by the Revenir became a cornerstone of the Shreveport dining scene. Hailed for its local produce usage and innovative, fresh recipes, the restaurant has cultivated an avid following. As a hub for southern-inspired cuisine in the hustle and bustle of the 6100 block of Line Avenue, Cypress has provided patrons with a dynamic atmosphere, combined with quality meals.

Challenges Leading to the Closure

With its restaurant’s closure announcement, the Cypress team directed attention towards the escalating food costs and profound labor shortages plaguing the restaurant industry. The statement urged the Shreveport community to continue their support for local restaurants facing similar hardships. “It’s a challenging business, so I would encourage the community to continue to give grace and support the incredible restaurant community that we are blessed to have here in Shreveport,” they said.

A Call for Continued Support

The departure of Cypress from the local dining scene emphasizes the fragility of the restaurant industry amid external constraints. Yet, it is the unwavering support of the community that can help local businesses strive through hardship. The closing of Cypress by the Revenir sends a significant signal to the public, reminding them to rally behind their favorite local spots and sustain the unique culinary landscape of their city.
