Major Wreck in Shreveport Leads to Arrest of Allegedly Drunk Driver

Incident Overview

Shreveport, La. – A serious traffic accident occurred early on August 18, around 1:10 a.m. in the 5200 block of W Bert Kouns Industrial Loop, resulting in the arrest of a man suspected of driving under the influence. The collision involved two vehicles and left two individuals injured.

Details of the Accident

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officials found a 2017 Mercedes severely damaged, with the driver still inside. The driver, later identified as Leon Chambers, aged 48, was arrested at the scene after officers noticed signs of potential intoxication. The second vehicle involved was a 2014 Honda Accord, which had two occupants who were subsequently rushed to the hospital.

Victim Status

Fortunately, the two individuals from the Honda Accord are expected to recover from their injuries.

Charges Filed

As the investigation unfolded, DWI investigators were called to gather more details about the wreck. Chambers now faces multiple charges, including DWI, reckless operation, and two counts of vehicular negligent injury.
