Sponsor Our ArticlesThis Saturday, October 26, FESTIVAL PLAZA in downtown Shreveport will transform into a craft beer lover’s paradise as it hosts the much-anticipated BREW, an exciting beer-tasting festival that promises to delight both novices and aficionados alike! From 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., get ready to sip on over 100 different beers, sample delicious local eats, and celebrate with friends.
Now in its 15th year, BREW is produced by the Mudbug Madness Festival and this year, we’re thrilled to announce that the presenting sponsor is the Live! Hotel & Casino in nearby Bossier City. Terri Matthews, Director of Downtown Shreveport Unlimited, is leading the charge for this year’s festivities. She promises an afternoon filled with the aroma of brewed ales from all corners of the region. Expect to see some familiar names like Great Raft Brewing and The Seventh Tap, alongside other amazing craft breweries.
As usual, the entrance fee of $65 includes all the beer sampling and access to the tantalizing after-party. This year’s bash is themed “Monster Mash,” perfect for the Halloween season, and will feature live music from The Molly Ringwalds. Known for their high-energy performances, this band is sure to take attendees on a musical journey full of ‘80s classics that will have everyone singing along.
If you’re not down for the beer sampling, don’t fret! Single tickets for the “Monster Mash” after-party will be available for $20 at the gate, but only after the beer tastings wrap up. And for those who might be earlier than the crowds, you can snag tickets by shooting an email to terri@mudbugmadness.com.
At BREW, it’s not just about great beer — it’s about great company! The pavilion Tailgate Tent will feature big screens, ensuring that nobody misses the thrilling LSU vs. Texas A&M game this weekend. A perfect pairing, right? As Matthews puts it, “There’s no running too far after more beer, no matter the score!”
And while the beer flows, local restaurants will showcase their delicious dishes, ensuring no one is sampling on an empty stomach. For those who prefer to stay sober, BREW will also offer a range of non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy.
One standout feature of the event will be the home brewer competition! Attendees can taste various entries, put their votes in, and ultimately see a lucky winner walk away with a trophy and those coveted bragging rights for the year. “It’s always a thrill to sample the unique creations from home brewers,” Matthews shared.
If you’re in the mood for some extra fun, don’t miss the costume contest with a whopping total of $1,000 up for grabs. And take a break from all that beer-tasting to engage in some classic backyard games like cornhole, Jenga, and Connect 4.
As Matthews passionately emphasizes, “It’s a wonderful fall afternoon. Where else can you sample over 100 beers, savor fantastic food, enjoy college football, and hang out with your friends for just $65? It’s truly a great deal!”
And for those seeking a more exclusive experience, VIP tables accommodating 10 guests are still available by contacting terri@mudbugmadness.com or calling 318-455-2001.
Don’t wait! Tickets can be purchased at shreveportbrew.com or by scanning the QR codes on promotional posters found around town. Enjoy this fantastic celebration of craft beer, good food, and great company at BREW this weekend!
