Shreveport’s Annual Book Bazaar Promises Literary Treasures for All

Shreveport’s Book Bazaar: A Treasure Trove Awaits!

Shreveport, La. – Excitement is in the air as Centenary College prepares to open the doors to its annual Book Bazaar, kicking off tomorrow and continuing on Saturday at the Centenary Fitness Center! It’s that time of year when book lovers, casual readers, and everyone in between can dive headfirst into a sea of literary treasures. With over 50,000 items spread across a whopping 70 different categories, this event promises something for everyone.

Community Spirit at Its Best

What’s truly heartwarming about the Book Bazaar is that all of these amazing items come from the generosity of our local community. Throughout the year, folks have been donating books, CDs, vinyl, DVDs, and audiobooks, which are then organized by the dedicated Centenary Muses. This fantastic volunteer group is committed to raising funds that benefit various projects and programs for Centenary students.

A Legacy of Giving

Since its inception, the Book Bazaar has been a roaring success, accumulating more than $1 million in funds for the college! These contributions have touched every aspect of student life—from academics and athletics to student government and the performing arts. So, when you’re browsing through those shelves this weekend, remember that you’re helping to support the next generation of students in our community.

What’s on Offer?

If you’re wondering what exactly you can find at the bazaar, get ready for an adventure! Whether you’re searching for that classic novel you’ve always wanted to read, trying to expand your audiobook collection, or on the hunt for some nostalgic vinyl records, this event is a treasure trove. You never know what hidden gems you might discover!

Helpful Details for Your Visit

Before you head out, here are a few details to keep in mind:

  • The bazaar will only accept cash or checks for purchases, but there will be an ATM on-site if you need to withdraw some cash!
  • If you have some books lying around that you’d like to donate, feel free to drop them off at the Book House located in Centenary Square during its open hours. The Book House is available Monday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • For after-hours donations, there’s a convenient drop box placed outside the door, so you can easily contribute no matter the time of day!

Accessible for All

Centenary College is committed to making the bazaar enjoyable for everyone. If you have any disabilities or require assistance with access, don’t hesitate to reach out for help. They want to make sure that everyone can experience the joy of this event!
