It’s a heartbreaking situation in Shreveport, where a local man has lost his life due to injuries sustained during a late-night beating. Christopher J. Temple, a 43-year-old resident of Webster Parish, passed away following an incident that took place on January 26, 2025.
As the clock ticked closer to 5:40 a.m., chaos erupted along Commerce Street. Temple was reportedly involved in a heated disagreement with another man after both had left a popular nightspot known as the Sand Bar on Spring Street. Eyewitnesses say the tension turned physical, and things took a deadly turn when Temple was struck in the head. This unfortunate blow sent him crashing to the ground, where he hit his head on the unforgiving sidewalk—a fateful moment that no one could have anticipated.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were on the scene quickly, transporting Temple to Ochsner LSU Health Hospital where he underwent surgery in hopes of saving his life. Despite the medical team’s best efforts, Temple’s recovery took a tragic turn. After a time in the hospital, he was moved to The Carpenter’s House Hospice, a place known for its compassionate end-of-life care. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries on February 15, 2025.
The Caddo Parish coroner performed an examination, ruling Temple’s death a homicide. This opened the door for law enforcement to dive deeper into the incident. The Shreveport Police acted quickly, initially arresting Trevor Moses, a 25-year-old man, on February 6, 2025, after witnesses identified him as a suspect in the assault. Surveillance footage from the Real-Time Crime Center reinforced witness accounts, helping investigators piece together the events leading up to the altercation.
Detectives are working diligently alongside the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office to decide on any further charges, which could potentially include homicide. The investigation remains open as officials seek to gather all necessary evidence in pursuit of justice for Temple.
