Sponsor Our ArticlesIf you’re the kind of person who enjoys cracking codes and escaping from tricky situations, then Shreveport is the place to be! The Shreve Memorial Library’s West Branch is set to launch a brand-new escape room experience that promises to be both fun and intellectually stimulating. Starting next week, you’ll have a chance to delve into a themed escape room inspired by the famous rapper and entrepreneur, 50 Cent, but with a unique twist. Instead of “Get Rich or Die Tryin’,” this experience is titled “Get Rich or Read Trying.” How clever is that?
Library Manager, Sheryll Anderson, shared her enthusiasm for this exciting event: “We’re trying to do it like, we need to read the literature and who doesn’t want to get rich?” The escape room aims to attract not just fans of 50 Cent, but also families, children, and adults who are looking for a good time. It serves as an opportunity to enjoy everything the library offers while fostering a love for reading.
Though the theme is based on the life and work of Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, you don’t need to be a die-hard fan to enjoy the puzzles. Samantha Bonnette, the library marketing manager, explained, “It is inspired by the life and work of 50 Cent so you don’t necessarily have to be a fan or know that much about him. It’s all about solving puzzles.” So whether you know every lyric by heart or you’re simply looking for a fun evening, this escape room is designed for everyone.
Slots for this escape room are available by reservation only and they come completely free of charge! So, gather your friends, family, or coworkers—groups of six to eight are welcomed—and prepare to unravel an array of intriguing riddles and challenges. While the puzzles may be inspired by 50 Cent’s work, the real star of the show is your ability to collaborate and think creatively with your team.
This fantastic initiative kicks off with the library’s Fall Festival on Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Celebrate with food trucks, games, and exciting giveaways, then gear up for the escape room that will take place starting Monday and running through November 1st. It’s a great way to socialize, test your problem-solving skills, and maybe just snag a few tips on how to “get rich” by diving into some literature!
Location-wise, the escape room will be hosted at the West Shreveport Branch of the library, located at 4380 Pines Road. If you’re itching to snag a reservation or want more information, swing by Shreve-lib.org where all the details await you.
This event is not just about solving puzzles; it’s a lively and enjoyable approach to promote reading among the community, especially for those who might not typically think of the library as a go-to destination for fun activities.
So, if you find yourself in Shreveport, make sure to reserve your spot; this escape room is an experience you won’t want to miss! With creativity, teamwork, and a touch of cleverness, who knows—you might just emerge victorious! Happy escaping!
