If you’re anywhere near Shreveport, you are in for a treat! The local scene is buzzing with creativity and excitement as various events and exhibitions roll out this festive season. Whether you love art, music, or community gatherings, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Art Exhibitions Not to Miss!

The Louisiana State Exhibit Museum is showcasing the intriguing exhibition “Rogue Reality — An Artificial Journey Through Intelligence” through November 27th. This thought-provoking display features the works of talented artists Jeremy Johnson and Hillary George. Best of all, it’s free to enter! Just around the corner, on December 3rd, the Bossier Arts Council will launch its latest exhibit titled “Dreamspace”. Local artist Whitney Tates aims to capture that delicate balance between presence and absence, waking and dreaming, with her stunning works. Be sure to check it out until January 28th in the East Bank Gallery. And don’t miss the opening reception on December 6th from 6-8 p.m.!

Pottery and Animal Arts Galore!

Starting December 8th and running through January 3rd, the Louisiana Society of Animal Artists and LSUS Mud Mavens Pottery will be showcased at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum. The opening reception on December 8th from 2-4 p.m. is a great chance to mingle and appreciate some creative talents – and yes, again, it’s free!

Additionally, if you’re a fan of contemporary art, the Artspace on Texas Street is hosting two exhibitions currently. Joey Slaughter’s display, “I Think We Will Be Fine From Here”, brings together various thoughts and conversations while “The Modern Figurative” exhibition invites you to explore the evolving language of figurative art from several contemporary artists. Both shows will run through December 21st, so take the time to stop by!

Live Music and Nightlife Thrills!

The music scene is just as vibrant! From cozy lounges to buzzing nightclubs, there’s no shortage of live music in Shreveport. For example, 2Johns Steak & Seafood is hosting live performances from local favorites like Winston Hall and Shawn Stroope Tuesday through Saturday. If you enjoy a good karaoke session, the Horseshoe Casino features a lively karaoke night every Thursday with DJ Shane Pons.
