Shreveport, La. – A significant arrest has taken place in the wake of a tragic shooting that occurred on July 17, 2024. Law enforcement recently confirmed the arrest of a 23-year-old man, Everett Henderson, in connection to the shooting that left a 24-year-old male victim with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
According to the Shreveport Police Department (SPD), officers responded to a call just before 7 p.m. in the 4700 block of Kennedy Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered Jaden Barnhill, the victim, who was later pronounced dead at the scene. The incident has left the local community in shock, prompting a thorough investigation by the police.
After an extensive investigation, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Henderson. He was apprehended early Monday morning, around 4:30 a.m., in the Pines Road area. Henderson now faces serious charges including second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Following Henderson’s arrest, SPD also announced that they are on the lookout for an additional suspect connected to the crime. The police are seeking information regarding Perteria Seamster, who is believed to have a relationship to the shooting incident.
