Firefighters battling early morning fires
Shreveport, Louisiana – Firefighters from the Shreveport Fire Department had a taxing start to their day as they battled two distinct fires in the morning hours of April 23.
The first incident occurred in the Forest Estates Mobile Home Park where an unoccupied mobile home was devoured by flames. Firefighters on the scene reported heavy flames shortly after midnight.
It took the firefighting team less than half an hour to suppress the fire. The mobile home was vacant at the time of the incident, and fortunately no injuries were reported. The inquiry into the cause of the fire is still in progress.
A few hours later, around half past two in the morning, the Shreveport Fire Department was mobilized again to respond to another fire. This time, a two-story building in West College Street had caught fire.
Crews were able to take control of the situation within 40 minutes. Reports indicate that the dwelling was occupied at the time; however, the inhabitants managed to safely evacuate. The ignited property was a residential building, and the cause of this inferno is also under investigation.
The valiant efforts of the Shreveport firefighters have not gone unnoticed. The continuous dedication of these men and women ensures the safety of Shreveport residents even at the most challenging times of the day. The cause of these fires is still uncertain, but investigations are ongoing. In the meantime, the swift and professional response of the firefighting team no doubt averted more significant damage and potential injuries.
