The Nominees Are In!

Twelve athletes have been selected as nominees for the inaugural Shreveport Times Football Player of the Week 1 ballot for 2024. These players have turned heads with their skills on the field, and now it’s time for you to show your support. Not too shabby, right?

Continuing the Excitement

This selection process is not just a one-time event. Oh no! The Football High School Athlete of the Week recognition will run throughout the Louisiana football season, celebrating the youthful talent we have here. Coaches and school admins are encouraged to submit their nominees, so keep those submissions coming!

An Early Favorite

As we dive into the heart of the season, let’s not forget that just recently, Mateo Guerrero from Bossier was voted as the Preseason Fan’s Choice Football Player of the Year. What a title to carry! This showcases the competitive spirit and rising talent in our local football scene. Could one of our Week 1 nominees challenge him for top honors as the season progresses? We can’t wait to see how this unfolds!
