This year’s fiesta will be packed with heartfelt stories of triumph and resilience, highlighted by the journeys of eight “celebrity” patients who will take to the red carpet. Guests will have the chance to snap photos with these amazing kids whose stories are truly inspiring. The tone for the evening will be set during a cocktail hour, where attendees can explore a fantastic selection of silent and live auction items.

And let’s not forget about the food! Thanks to the Louisiana Seafood Promotion Board, a delightful seafood buffet will cater to everyone’s taste buds, making your evening an experience to remember.

What’s a gala without amazing auction items? Jennifer Martin, the senior director of philanthropy for Shriners Children’s Shreveport, shared some exciting offerings for this year’s auction. Imagine snagging a Dak Prescott-autographed football or a Lainey Wilson-autographed guitar that was played at the Grand Ole Opry. There’s also a PGA tour golf bag signed by hometown hero Sam Burns! The excitement in the air will be electric as participants bid for these extraordinary items.

Real Heroes Take the Stage

The real stars of the night, however, are the patient “celebrities” themselves, each ready to share their unique journeys. Among them is Chloe Hyde, a remarkable young girl who has been receiving care at Shriners for her cleft lip and palate. Chloe’s story is a testament to the love and support that Shriners provides; her mom, reflecting on their journey, expressed that the Shriners team has become like family to them.

Shriners Children’s Shreveport has been a cornerstone of pediatric care since it opened its doors back in 1922, providing crucial medical assistance regardless of a family’s financial means. With a full range of specialty services from prosthetics and orthotics to therapy, the facility’s mission is clear: to provide exceptional support for children in need.

Focusing on Future Generations

As the night progresses, we’ll hear from another local celebrity, Chole Lerchie, who has bravely utilized Shriners’ sports medicine rehab to help enhance her skills as a soccer player. Chole, a 13-year-old rising star and apprentice black belt, was treated for various injuries and couldn’t be more grateful for the care she has received. She sweetly remarked that at Shriners, she feels like she’s “a part of something with people who truly care.”

Empowering Kids and Their Families

The evening will also feature a special paddle raise dedicated to generating funds for the rehab department, which focuses on helping young athletes recover from sports injuries. Their team is trained specifically to address the needs of developing children, ensuring that they can safely return to their favorite activities.

A Global Voice of Hope

As if that wasn’t enough to inspire, this year’s featured speaker is Paige LaCombe, the 2025 International Patient Ambassador. Paige will share her remarkable story of overcoming life-threatening health challenges at a young age, thanks to the dedicated team at Shriners. Her resilience echoes the powerful message of hope that Shriners Children’s Shreveport embodies.
