Shreveport Artists to Participate in World Wide ‘Art N Seek’ Event Game of Shrooms
Local artists in Shreveport are gearing up to participate in an exciting worldwide event known as Game of Shrooms. This annual “art N seek” event, organized by Daniel “Attaboy” Seifert, brings together artists from all over the globe to hide their original mushroom-themed artworks in public places for others to find and keep.
According to Shreveport artist James Marks, “The act of hiding something for strangers to find is the kindest form of gift giving. Finding something is the truest form of ownership.” This unique concept adds an element of surprise and adventure to the art world, making it a thrilling experience for both artists and participants.
The Game of Shrooms Event
The Game of Shrooms event first began in 2019 and has since grown in popularity among art enthusiasts. Artists participating in the event will post clues on Instagram, giving followers the chance to track down their hidden artworks in various locations.
Participants who successfully find the hidden art pieces are encouraged to post a picture on social media to claim their prize. This interactive and engaging approach to art showcases the creativity and talent of artists while allowing members of the community to actively participate in the hunt.

Artist Maggie Molisee expressed her excitement, stating, “Art is the treasure. What could be more fun?” Molisee plans to hide four miniature mushroom paintings in the Highland area and place four mushroom-themed magnets on metal poles.
James Marks, another local artist, shared his perspective on the event, saying, “I hope the 20 odd pieces I am putting out find loving homes.” Marks intends to conceal his artworks in downtown Shreveport, adding a touch of artistic flair to the city’s streets.
