The annual awards, a statewide initiative by Keep Louisiana Beautiful, focuses on encouraging individuals, organizations, and communities to take charge of their surroundings by curbing litter and promoting beautification and education campaigns.
Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser, expressed his delight at the results, stating, “These organizations stepped up and demonstrated what it means to Love the Boot. I commend them for their efforts to clean up and beautify Louisiana. Let’s all keep working together to put the paradise back in our Sportsman’s Paradise.”
Shreveport Green showed an indisputable commitment to their community during Love the Boot Week. Their extraordinary efforts shined when over 500 enthusiastic volunteers rallied together to collect a whopping 27,242 pounds of litter during an extensive city-wide cleanup event.
But, their commitment to the wellbeing of their community did not stop there. In synergy with their dedication to nature and to promote conscious living, Shreveport Green also hosted an inspiring Earth Day celebration. Their Urban Farm was the hub of activities that included beautification projects, educational sessions, plantings, thereby instilling a greater sense of environmental responsibility among participants. A community mural painting brought to life the vibrant spirit of unity and the shared love for the environment.
