Firefighters battling house fires

Fires Cause Damage to Two Homes in Shreveport

Shreveport, La. — Two house fires erupted within just about *half an hour* of each other on the afternoon of *August 25*. Firefighters responded swiftly to both incidents, ensuring the safety of the residents involved.

First Fire on New Mexico Circle

The first fire broke out at approximately *11:37 a.m.* at a single-story home located in the 8600 block of New Mexico Circle, just west of Interstate 49. Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters encountered *heavy smoke and flames* coming from the roof of the residence.

A total of *24 firefighters* and *eight fire units* were deployed to tackle the blaze. Thankfully, all occupants managed to escape unharmed. They will temporarily stay with family members until the home undergoes repairs.

Second Fire on Buckelew Street

The second incident occurred shortly thereafter, at *12:09 p.m.*, in a home on Buckelew Street, situated between Wall and Foster streets. Heavy smoke and flames were observed on the right side of this residence as firefighters arrived.

This fire was subdued relatively quickly; it took *21 firefighters* and *seven fire units* approximately *10 minutes* to bring it under control. Despite the damage, all residents were safe, and nearby homes experienced minimal exposure damage. Affected individuals will also be staying with family members during repairs.

Investigation Underway

The causes of these two *fires* are currently under investigation. Residents are reminded to stay aware of fire safety and consider reviewing their escape plans.

As of now, there have been no reported injuries, and the community remains focused on supporting those affected by the unfortunate events.
