SHREVEPORT, La. – Thousands of people are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Humor and Harmony festival hosted by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson next month. The festival has already generated immense buzz, with city leaders confirming that Jackson’s team has secured at least 750 hotel rooms for the event.
Janie Landry, representing the Shreveport Downtown Development Authority, expressed excitement about the festival’s impact on the community. “It does generate excitement and that excitement then spills out into the community as people begin to see all the preparations and activities ahead of the event itself,” Landry said.
According to the Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation (SPAR), the city is expecting around 30,000 visitors during the Humor & Harmony festival. With such a large influx of visitors, accommodations in the area are in high demand.
Two major hotels in downtown Shreveport, the Hilton Downtown and Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino, have already reached full capacity ahead of the festival. This surge in bookings highlights the excitement surrounding the event.
While these two hotels are fully booked, there are still accommodations available in downtown Shreveport and Bossier City for festival attendees. For example, Bally’s Shreveport Casino & Hotel is offering standard rooms at $149 per night, with some nights already sold out.
Landry reiterated the positive impact of events like the Humor & Harmony festival on the community. “When you hear good things like this event, we need to hear those good things because we don’t hear them enough,” Landry said. The festival’s lineup includes a comedy show, concert, talent show, car show, and a 3-on-3 pro basketball game.
If you are planning to attend the Humor & Harmony festival, it is advisable to secure your accommodations soon. In addition to hotels, Airbnb options are also available for those looking for alternative lodging during the event.
The Humor & Harmony festival is scheduled to take place from Thursday, August 8 to Sunday, August 11. With a wide range of entertainment and activities planned, it promises to be a memorable experience for attendees.
