Sponsor Our ArticlesShreveport, La. is buzzing with excitement as the Humor & Harmony festival approaches, set to run from August 8 to August 11. Restaurants in the downtown area are ramping up operations in anticipation of the expected influx of festival-goers, eager to soak in the myriad of festivities, performances, and celebrity sightings.
Local eateries are gearing up to accommodate large crowds. Desmond Darwin, a local business owner, articulated the potential benefits of the festival, noting, “Man, I think what 50 Cent is bringing is opportunity and growth to the city of Shreveport.” With celebrities set to stroll through downtown, establishments anticipate a surge in customers eager to grab a bite or sip on coffee.
Cassandra Johnson, the executive chef at Cassandra’s on the River, shared her preparations, stating, “We’ve been informed by 50 Cent, Mr. Jackson himself and his team to be ready for a big and busy weekend.” She expressed the urgency in her staffing efforts to ensure they can meet the demands of the festival crowd.
Rhino Coffee’s marketing manager, Zack Fink, is equally focused on preparation. “We’re just gonna make sure that we have the staff ready to go, ready to make drinks and keep everybody caffeinated,” he mentioned enthusiastically. The anticipation is palpable as businesses stock up on supplies and prepare workflows for a high-capacity weekend.
Both Cassandra’s and Rhino Coffee are taking proactive measures to ensure they won’t run out of supplies. Johnson has coordinated with food distributors for emergency deliveries, while Fink noted their roasting operations had been scaled up, ensuring they had plenty of coffee to serve the throngs expected during the festival.
The excitement surrounding Humor & Harmony is infectious; individuals throughout the city are looking forward to the unique experience it brings. As Darwin remarked, “I am feeling excited, man, I am feeling excited. I am gonna go to all three events.” Festival attendees are especially eager about the chance to see many celebrities in attendance.
Johnson expressed her pride in being chosen to prepare food for the celebrities attending. “I was chosen as one of the chefs to prepare food for all the 100 celebrities that will be in town. So, it’s very exciting for me and my staff,” she stated, underlining the opportunity for local chefs to showcase their talents to an audience of influential figures.
As the city of Shreveport gears up for the Humor & Harmony festival, local businesses are prepared to meet the hospitality challenge with open arms, delicious food, and plenty of drinks to keep the energy high. Make sure to keep an eye on updates as the weekend’s excitement rolls in.
