Shreveport’s First Job Fair by Multipack Services Attracts Hundreds Seeking New Opportunities

Shreveport Buzzes with Excitement as Multipack Services Hosts First Job Fair

Shreveport, La. lit up with enthusiasm on Tuesday, October 8, as hundreds flocked to the first-ever job fair hosted by Multipack Services at their local facility. It was heartwarming to see folks from all walks of life excitedly queueing up, resumes in hand, eager for the opportunity to interview for new positions.

Getting in Line for Opportunity

Among the eager applicants was Michael Hawlthrone, who shared his optimism with a bright smile, saying, “I came today to apply for a job at the company and I hope to get hired.” His sentiments echoed those of countless others who showed up with similar hopes and aspirations.

Big Dreams for Northwest Louisiana

Multipack Services is making waves in the region by promising to create 141 direct new jobs with an average annual salary of over $51,000. According to estimates from Louisiana Economic Development, this initiative will also lead to about 228 indirect jobs, bringing the grand total to a remarkable 369 new jobs for the thriving community in Northwest Louisiana.

Excitement in the Air

Justin Wilkinson, co-founder and vice president of operations for Multipack Services, expressed his excitement, noting, “We are doing our very first job fair, and it’s amazing. All of these people are showing up early, even before we were here today. They are bringing a fantastic energy. We are excited to talk to all of them.”

This kind of enthusiasm set the tone for the day, turning what could have been a nerve-wracking experience into an opportunity bursting with positivity.

On-the-Spot Interviews

As the event unfolded, there were many faces, some nervous and others excited, as they awaited their turn for an on-the-spot interview. Randy Miller, president of the employment agency Career Adventures, mentioned, “We are doing on-site interviews today, and some will be scheduled to come back another day.” He predicted that there would be at least 200 people interviewed that day—a significant turnout.

A Range of Opportunities

Multipack Services is on the lookout to fill over 100 positions across various roles. Some of the coveted positions include machine operators, warehouse workers, forklift operators, quality technicians, and packaging technicians—all critical components of the booming beverage manufacturing process.

The Growing Needs of Multipack

As the operations ramp up, Multipack is optimistic about future growth. Wilkinson mentioned, “Right now, we have a small bottling production line going. And we are maybe a month or two away from our canning line. So once the canning line speeds up, we will have another greater demand for more people.”

Why Shreveport?

Multipack Services has chosen Shreveport for multiple reasons, with the company president Sam Alexander highlighting the unique opportunities available. “Multipack is a beverage co-packer. We manufacture beverages, sodas, coffees, teas, flavored water, just about anything you can find at your local grocery store that comes in a can or a bottle, we produce.”

The initial roles being offered have starting salaries of $18 an hour, which is a fantastic sign for job seekers and the overall economy in Shreveport. David Smith, the executive director of the entrepreneurial accelerated program at BRF, added, “This is great for Shreveport and exciting for us because we go out and meet a lot of companies and we want them to move to Shreveport.”

If You Missed Out

The job fair took place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 2791 Valley View Drive in Shreveport. If you were unable to attend but are still interested in working with Multipack Services, fret not! You can drop off your resume at Career Adventures located at 324 Fort St. in Shreveport. There are still avenues for those eager to join this vibrant community.

Conclusion

As the day wrapped up, the atmosphere was thick with hope and ambition, showcasing the spirit of Shreveport. With the future looking bright and new opportunities popping up, the charm of this city continues to shine!
