Shreveport, LA – The job market in Shreveport is on a positive trajectory, as the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) recorded a modest gain of 300 jobs in October 2024. The latest report from the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) indicates that this growth is part of a gradual recovery, with the region witnessing a net gain of 100 jobs over the past year. Louisiana’s Steady Progress
What’s even more heartening is that this local growth reflects a larger trend across our beloved state. In the same month, Louisiana added a commendable 7,700 seasonally adjusted nonfarm jobs, bringing the total to an impressive 1,965,500. Over the last year, Louisiana has gained a total of 9,500 jobs, which means the state continues to shine in job creation with an astonishing 43 consecutive months of year-over-year gains in nonfarm employment.
