Men dueling with knives
SHREVEPORT, La. – When passion meets anger, there is potential for calamity, as what occurred in the wee hours of May 12 in the Highland neighborhood of Shreveport, Louisiana. The Highland Neighbors woke up to the alarming news of a tragic event, a love triangle culminating in a violent knife fight between two men vying for the affections of the same woman.
The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) received the initial distress call at 12:31 a.m., regarding a stabbing incident at the 2800 block of Highland Avenue. As officers arrived on the scene, it was apparent that the situation was more severe than a routine dispute.
The heated altercation had reportedly started over a woman, the object of affection between the two men. It resulted in a knife fight that, in turn, led to at least one of the participants being stabbed, as per the friend of one of the men involved. However, the severity and extent of injuries inflicted on both parties remain ambiguous as the uncooperative demeanor of both the men continues to hinder the authorities.
The SPD report has yet to conclude whether the two gentlemen involved were both culprits and victims or if one clearly overstepped the boundaries of a fair fight, instigating the violence. Though intense discussions and negotiations, neither party appeared willing to release any meaningful information to the authorities. This lack of cooperation has left officers in a state of an impasse, consequently deferring the potential arrest that might have happened.
