Shreveport, Louisiana is buzzing with excitement as Allegiant Airlines gears up to launch its first-ever non-stop flight service to Nashville, Tennessee. Starting on Thursday, May 22, 2025, residents will have the opportunity to hop on a plane twice a week without any layovers! This thrilling news marks a significant milestone in the 72-year history of the Shreveport Regional Airport.
The non-stop flights will operate on Thursdays and Sundays, making it incredibly convenient for weekend getaways or short business trips. These seasonal flights will be available until August 17, 2025, giving folks plenty of time to explore Nashville’s famous music scene, delicious food, and vibrant culture.
After hearing the news, Larry Blackwell, the Director of Airports for the Shreveport Airport Authority, couldn’t contain his enthusiasm. “We are very excited that Allegiant decided to add direct flights to Nashville, Tennessee; one of our most requested cities,” he shared. “We are always working to add new destinations from Shreveport, and this is a fantastic addition!”
But that’s not all. The airport is undergoing several improvements, including new restaurant and retail options, modern terminal seating, and additional vehicle parking. The team at the airport is working hard to provide the Ark-La-Tex community with more reasons than ever to fly out of their local airport.
The introduction of this exciting route has been made possible with the support from the Ark-La-Tex Regional Air Service Alliance (RASA). This group is dedicated to boosting air service at Shreveport Regional Airport. They have previously helped secure direct flights to cities like Denver, Charlotte, Destin, and Los Angeles.
Tim Wilhite, the president of the RASA board of directors, expressed his excitement, stating, “RASA is excited to work with Allegiant to make this new non-stop flight happen. Our goal of adding new routes from Shreveport Regional Airport is not only to benefit our region, but also to open the door to the people of Tennessee to come experience all that the Ark-La-Tex has to offer. We will continue to explore all options to bring new routes and add to existing service at every opportunity.”
For those who already have their hearts set on exploring Nashville or enjoying a laid-back weekend, tickets for the new non-stop route are already available for purchase on Allegiant.com. Fares start at just $44.50 one way, so you can get ready to book that spontaneous trip without breaking the bank!
Additionally, if you’re dreaming of sandy beaches, Allegiant also has non-stop flights scheduled for next summer to fabulous destinations like Destin and Orlando, Florida. But wait — there’s more. The strong support and commitment to improving air travel from Shreveport means a much brighter future for travelers in the region.
With these exciting updates at Shreveport Regional Airport, including new destinations, improved facilities, and increased flight options, it’s becoming clearer than ever why flying out from Shreveport is becoming the preferred choice for many locals.
