Shreveport Police Investigate Series of Criminal Activities

News Summary

The Shreveport Police Department is currently investigating several recent criminal incidents capturing community attention. These cases include a theft at a nursing home, financial misappropriation at a local academy, a burglary, and alarming car theft involving a child. The police emphasize community vigilance as they seek to resolve these matters.

Shreveport Police on the Hunt for Multiple Criminal Activities

In the heart of Shreveport, the police department is currently busy investigating a string of recent criminal activities that have raised eyebrows in the community. These include a theft from a local nursing home and a car theft incident involving a vulnerable child, both of which have garnered considerable attention.

The Nursing Home Heist

Let’s start with an unusual crime that left the residents of Heritage Manor—the nursing home located at 530 Stratmore Avenue—feeling vulnerable. In December of 2024, a woman named Roshonda Holden allegedly made off with medications from the facility’s medicine court. This incident sparked a serious response from the Shreveport Police Department (SPD), which was notified by an employee of the nursing home. After a thorough investigation that included reviewing security footage, detectives successfully secured warrants for Holden’s arrest on theft charges.

If you happen to have any information about her current whereabouts, the SPD is urging you to give them a call at 318-673-7300. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be submitted through Caddo Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373 or via the P3 mobile app.

Financial Shenanigans at Evangel Christian Academy

In another twist, a former bookkeeper from Evangel Christian Academy is in hot water over alleged financial misdeeds. Angela Nichole Stevens was taken into custody on March 10 following reports of suspicious financial records that dated back to a period from April 2023 to June 2024. She was responsible for managing cash payments but now faces serious charges of felony theft, accused of misappropriating a staggering $85,700.25 from the school. The investigation is still ongoing, and the school community is surely hoping for a swift resolution.

Burglary Gone Bad

Then, there’s the case in early January where detectives from the property crime unit executed a search warrant at a residence on 4014 Crosby Street. This search was part of an ongoing investigation into a burglary at the Southern Cycle Shop, located at 7702 Jewella Avenue. In a surprising turn of events, the police recovered a stolen Glock 23 handgun, Schedule II narcotics, and various drug paraphernalia. Two suspects, Lenice Bolton and Stantavius Underwood, both experienced in the criminal world, were found in possession of the stolen firearm and drugs. Bolton, as it turns out, also had some outstanding warrants against her in connection with other charges. An additional suspect, Anthony Brown, is being considered in this burglary saga as well. All involved have been booked into the Shreveport City Jail, and the investigation continues.

A Scary Car Theft with a Child Involved

One of the most alarming incidents took place on January 31, when officers responded to a heart-stopping report of car theft in the 2800 block of Glenwick Street. A woman had parked her car in her driveway and briefly stepped inside her home, only to discover that her vehicle—along with her 1-year-old baby secured in a car seat in the back—had been stolen. Thankfully, the baby was found unharmed later that evening in a Walmart parking lot and was promptly returned to her relieved mother. The stolen vehicle was recovered shortly after in a Circle K parking lot on 9009 Youree Drive.

Officers apprehended the alleged thief, Marcus Madden, a 17-year-old, who fled on foot but was picked up shortly after being spotted near an apartment complex. He is now facing charges linked to the car theft incident, and officials emphasize that this investigation is ongoing.

Wrapping Up

As the Shreveport community navigates through these unsettling events, it’s evident that local law enforcement is actively working to keep residents safe. With vigilance and the public’s help, SPD aims to manage these crime waves effectively. The hope is that with coordinated efforts, neighborhoods can once again feel secure in their own backyards.
