Thankfully, the bus driver displayed remarkable alertness and quick thinking when she steered the bus just moments before impact, which likely prevented even more severe injuries to a child who was trying to board.

As a result of the collision, four children sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment. In a more serious twist, the tow truck driver—who is an employee of Bricks Towing Company in Shreveport—suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to Ochsner LSU Health.

The back window of the bus was shattered, there was broken glass scattered around, a dented door was beyond repair, and the bus was rendered unusable altogether.
