Increased Security Measures by Police Ahead of Humor & Harmony Festival Weekend

Shreveport Readies for a Safe and Joyful Celebration

Shreveport, La. is gearing up for the much-anticipated Humor & Harmony festival, featuring renowned rapper 50 Cent. With thousands of attendees expected over the four-day weekend, local authorities are enhancing security measures to ensure a safe environment for all participants.

Collaboration with G-Unit Studios

The Shreveport Police Department (SPD) is collaborating closely with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Studios to ramp up safety protocols for the festival. As part of this effort, the city has acquired a new security trailer specifically for the event, while G-Unit will provide an additional ten security trailers, which will be incorporated into the SPD’s Real Time Crime Center.

Local Officials Emphasize Commitment to Safety

Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux expressed enthusiasm about the festival and the implementation of enhanced security measures, stating, “We are excited to facilitate the Humor & Harmony event and are committed to providing a safe experience for everyone involved.” The mayor underscored that by boosting security resources, the city is signaling its commitment to the safety and well-being of the community.

Real-time Monitoring for a Safe Experience

SPD Chief Wayne Smith highlighted the importance of the newly added security trailers, saying, “These security trailers significantly strengthen our capabilities during the event. The integration with the Real Time Crime Center will allow us to maintain a high level of situational awareness and ensure the safety of all attendees.”
