In the early hours of August 20, 2024, a woman has been taken into police custody after a severe domestic stabbing incident in Shreveport’s Mooretown area. The event unfolded around 2 a.m. at a residence located in the 4300 block of Illinois Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds. Reports indicate that the victim sustained serious injuries to his back, neck, and arm. Emergency services transported him to a local hospital for urgent medical care.
The victim detailed to authorities that a heated argument with Quennisha Gandy, aged 27, escalated when he attempted to leave the house. It was then that Gandy allegedly stabbed him multiple times. In his desperate bid for safety, the victim ran to a nearby apartment complex seeking help.
Shreveport Police have revealed that footage from the Real Time Crime Center corroborates the victim’s account, showing Gandy pursuing him while wielding a knife.
Given the seriousness of the victim’s injuries, Gandy was arrested shortly after the incident. She faces significant charges, including domestic abuse battery with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury and a related charge of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment.
This alarming event has drawn attention within the community, highlighting ongoing concerns regarding domestic violence. Local authorities and support networks continue to stress the importance of reporting incidents to prevent further escalations.
