South Bossier Area Sees a Surge in New Businesses

Signs of economic growth continue as construction projects spring up near the base of the iconic Jimmie Davis Bridge in Bossier City, Louisiana, enhancing the business landscape in the area, particularly South Bossier. Upon completion, the area is slated to play host to a brand new billiards hall, retail strip, and hotel.

New Addition to the Region’s Entertainment Scene

The billiards hall represents the first phase of the project and introduces a novel form of entertainment to South Bossier. According to City Councilman Brian Hammons, “Down at the foot of the Jimmy Davis Bridge on Brookshire’s grocery arena drive, we have a new pool hall going in; that is the first phase. The second phase is going to be a strip center with a restaurant in it, and then the final third phase will be a new hotel for the area.”

The City Councilman welcomed the development, highlighting its significance to the local community, “People in South Bossier, they’re looking for things to do. They want new things, and I think this is going to be a really good venture for the people putting this in.”

New Hotel in Vicinity of Brookshire’s Grocery Arena

The third and final phase of the project will be a new hotel, conveniently located within walking distance to the Brookshire grocery arena. This development is expected to bring added convenience to visitors coming in from out of town for concerts or shows at the arena, offering them the opportunity to stay nearby. City Councilman Hammons expressed his support for the hotel development, citing that “it’s going to be a win-win.”

New Development Met with Appreciation and Optimism

Existing South Bossier business owners are additionally expressing their support for the new development. Ryan Dickson, owner of The Rustic Barn, shared his perspective. He commented, “I think new developments are great for South Bossier. A lot of people want more business here in South Bossier, so anything new is awesome, in my opinion.”

The concrete slab for the first phase, the billiards hall, is reported to have already been poured, indicating that progress is well underway. These new developments not only endorse South Bossier as a growing commercial hub but also serve as testament to its economic potential and appeal to investors and visitors alike.
