This operation unfolded over a span of seven days in May and June, involving multiple agencies such as:
Shreveport Police Chief Wayne Smith emphasized the unity against crime, stating, “Crime has no boundaries,” stressing that collective efforts allow for a stronger defense against violent activities in neighborhoods.
This endeavor was part of the Violent Gun Reduction Interdiction Program, supported by the Department of Justice’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces. The program aims to investigate and prosecute serious drug trafficking and organized crime.
U.S. Attorney Brandon B. Brown highlighted the significance of partnerships in combatting crime, mentioning the accomplishment in relation to reducing violent offenders. “We look forward to continuing these partnerships to ensure community safety,” he stated, emphasizing the commitment of law enforcement agencies to improve living conditions.
The OCDETF has been involved in addressing serious crimes since July 2021, leading to the arrest of over 200 violent offenders. Myrthil encapsulated the ongoing mission, saying, “Every single action taken by our partners contributes to dismantling violent enterprises and reclaiming our communities.”
