Bossier City, Louisiana is gearing up for a thrilling evening of ghostly excitement as the SBC Zombie Walk 2024 approaches! This delightful event, designed for families and their pets, invites everyone to come out and have a spooktacular time while supporting some great causes. Mark your calendars for October 12, from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the East Bank Plaza, located at 600 Barksdale Boulevard.
With this year’s theme being Little Pet Shoppe of Horrors, creativity is encouraged to run wild! Dress up in your most ghoulish costumes, and don’t forget to bring your furry friends along for the ride! It’s a celebration of all things spooky and cute, rolled into one unforgettable event.
And the best part? The event is completely free to attend! While enjoying the festivities, the SBC Zombie Walk aims to raise funds and gather donations for several nonprofit organizations. The Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana will be on-site collecting canned food donations to support those in need, so don’t forget to bring along some non-perishable items.
Feeling brave? LifeShare Blood Center will be there taking blood donations, inviting any zombie with a big heart to come and share! It’s a unique way to help others while joining in on the fun.
The evening will be filled with exciting live performances, including a special show by Dr. Maxamillion, aka Mack Swans, a talented rapper and producer from New Orleans who has recently made a name in Shreveport-Bossier. His music blends southern style with contemporary vibes, sure to liven up the event. Also performing is the local heavy psych-rock band Holy Witch, known for their energetic, hypnotic sound with a touch of 70s influence.
Get ready for some friendly competition! There will be a Zombie Costume Contest for ages 12 and up! Flaunt your best zombie look and sign up for a chance at one of the spook-tacular prizes for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. Judging will be brought to you by the spooky specialists from NecroManor Haunted House, Mad Cow Masks, and Olive Street Oddities.
For our little ghouls aged 11 and under, there’s a Children’s Zombie Costume Contest to participate in as well! Judges will reward the top three with delightful surprise baskets brimming with treats, courtesy of Sweet Tooth Delivery Co..
And let’s not forget the furry companions! Bring your canine pals dressed in their best Halloween costumes for the Zombie Walk Dog Costume contest! The Howling Hotel & Spa will capture this cuteness with photos, and the top dog will walk away with a fabulous gift basket filled with goodies donated from local favorites like Ezzie Lou’s Barkshop and Hollywood Feed.
This lively evening promises not only entertainment but also a fantastic way to give back to the community. So grab your family, friends, and your beloved pets, and head out to the East Bank Plaza for an unforgettable night. Dress up, dance, donate, and most importantly, have a blast! We can’t wait to see you there!
